Exactly, when you look at a topographical map of the watershed.............


footprint that feeds SML, it's huge. That being said, SML has 20,000 acres of water surface area, and Appalachian Power is supposed to manage that by lowering the lake and putting more water in Leesville lake which is directly downstream. They haven't done a great job this year, to say the least.

I've owned property on SML for 25 years and I have only seen "flood" conditions, i.e. lake levels over and above my stationary dock 3 times, once in 2005 and twice this year.
